Reuse guidelines

These terms stand for every white paper, article and figure JTN Group publishes.

You may share our research, in full and with credit, without writing to ask. This page sets out what that covers and the three conditions attached to it.

Effective 31 August 2026Version 1.0

JTN Group publishes white papers, research and articles so that people in marketing, sales and revenue roles can use them. Circulating that work is the point of publishing it, and asking for permission each time slows everyone down. So the permission is granted here, in advance, on standing terms.

These terms apply to work published by JTN Group at jtn.group and to the PDFs distributed from it, including the text, the tables, the diagrams and the charts we produced. Where a work carries its own licence notice, that notice governs.

Permitted without asking

Without asking, and at no cost, you may:

  • Redistribute a complete work in its original form. Email it, put it on an intranet, attach it to a newsletter, or host the PDF for download from your own site.
  • Quote from it, up to 400 words in any single piece.
  • Reproduce a complete table, chart or diagram in a report, article or deck.
  • Circulate it inside your organisation, including in training and in client work.
  • Cite it in academic and professional work.

This grant covers commercial use. An agency may put a JTN table into a client deck. A trade publication may quote a JTN paper in a piece it sells advertising against. A consultant may hand a JTN white paper to a prospect. None of that needs clearing with us first.

Conditions

Three things travel with the work.

Credit

Name the work, name the author and name JTN Group. Where the format carries a date, use the publication date shown on the work. Credit lines you can copy are at the foot of this page.

A live link

Include a working link to the work on jtn.group, or to the page its PDF is downloaded from. It should resolve in a single hop and be clickable by the reader, rather than a shortener, a redirect or a URL set as an image.

Mark that link rel="nofollow", rel="ugc" or rel="sponsored" if your editorial or platform policy requires it. The link has to be present and has to work. Whether it passes ranking signals is your decision and not a condition of this grant.

No alteration

Redistribute the work whole and unchanged. Do not edit the text, recaption a figure, restyle it into your own template, remove the JTN name or the copyright notice, or present it as your own or as jointly produced. Quoting accurately is not alteration. Rewriting a sentence and keeping the attribution is.

Uses that need permission

Write to jonathan@jtn.group for:

  • Translation of a complete work.
  • Republication behind a paywall, or as part of a paid product, course or subscription.
  • Reproduction in a printed book or periodical offered for sale.
  • Extraction of substantial portions into a database, dataset, tool or product.
  • Modified, abridged or co-branded versions.
  • Any use of the JTN name, the wordmark or the author’s name that would suggest JTN endorses, sponsors or has reviewed your organisation, product or content.

Most of these get a yes. The request exists so that the work stays traceable and so that we know where it has gone.

AI systems and answer engines

Quotation and summarisation by AI assistants, answer engines and research agents is permitted on the same terms as any other reuse. Name the work and surface a working URL to it. Where the interface supports a citation or a source link, use it.

Rights reservation for text and data mining. JTN Group reserves the rights to reproduce and extract its works for the purposes of text and data mining, including for the training, fine-tuning or evaluation of generative models, under Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and the corresponding provisions of national law.

This reservation is made by these terms and by the machine-readable signals published alongside them. Licensing for training use is available on request.

Citation and training are treated differently here on purpose. A quotation with a working link sends a reader back to the source, which is the reason we publish at all. Ingestion into a training corpus carries the work forward without carrying the attribution with it, and that is a different transaction.

Third-party material and images

JTN’s works quote statute, case reports, regulatory guidance and published licence terms, and they carry photographs and illustrations licensed from third parties. This grant covers JTN Group’s own text, tables and diagrams. It does not license anything JTN does not own.

Images are where this catches people out. A photograph appearing in a JTN work is licensed to JTN for that work and does not travel with a redistribution. Passing on a complete PDF in its original form is covered, because that is the work as licensed. Lifting an image out of it and using it somewhere else is not, and the licence you would need is ours to hold rather than ours to give.

The same rule applies to any third party’s material we have quoted. Where a JTN work reproduces a passage from a statute, a judgment or an agency’s published terms, our permission extends to our own commentary around it and no further.

No warranty, and no legal advice

Copyright in JTN Group’s published works belongs to JTN Group. The works are provided as published and without warranty of any kind.

They are commentary and briefing, not legal, financial or professional advice. The law they describe changes, and so do the platform and licence terms they quote. Read the date on the work, and check anything you plan to rely on against its primary source before you act on it.

Changes and withdrawal

These terms apply to a work while they stand on this page. We may change them for future publications, and the version number and effective date above will move when we do.

A reuse that was permitted when it was made stays permitted. A change here does not reach backwards. Where a work is corrected or withdrawn, we may ask that a redistributed copy be updated or taken down, and we would be grateful if you did.

Credit lines you can copy

Any of these satisfies the credit and link conditions. Replace the bracketed parts with the details on the work itself.
